WEST OF THE DIVIDE

Schauspieler / Actor: John Wayne / George 'Gabby' Hayes
Film / Movie: West of the Divide (1934)

text from eby offfer: Offered here is a vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. lobby card from the western romance WEST OF THE DIVIDE, a Lone Star Western that was released in 1934 by Monogram Pictures and directed by Robert N. Bradbury. Ted Hayden (John Wayne) and his pal Dusty Rhodes (George "Gabby" Hayes) come across a dying outlaw, Gatt Ganns. On Ganns's person, they find a letter of introduction to rancher Gentry (Lloyd Whitlock) implicating Gentry in the disappearance of Ted's kid brother Jim and the murder of their father many years earlier. Ted takes on Ganns's identity and pretends to go to work for Gentry, while actually looking for further evidence that Gentry did indeed murder his father and abduct his brother. This film was shot on location in Kernville, California. The image on this scene card features a medium shot of Wayne wearing a bright red shirt with a blue kerchief and a black hat while astride a white horse as George "Gabby" Hayes is astride a black horse next to him. This vintage original 1930s lobby card is in fine+ condition with one pinhole in each corner; a tiny bit of wear on the tip of the bottom right corner; a tiny nick along the edge of the left border just above the bottom left corner; and a very light 1 in. vertical crease with the top portion of the left border. The colors are extremely fresh and vibrant and include a pink sunset. This is a great Western image featuring one of the screen's greatest Western stars.
