"The 1928 Richard Norman silent era western oil adventure, Black Gold, filmed entirely in the all black town of Tatums, Oklahoma. Starring Lawrence Criner, Kathryn Boyd, Steve (Peg) Reynolds, Marshall L.B. Tatums and the entire townspeople of Tatums, Oklahoma. Norman's films were unique for the time as they featured an all-black cast with blacks in positive roles such as lawyers, bankers, etc. rather than the stereotypical roles of the time."
